Adding photos to a property

Modified on Fri, 16 Oct at 4:10 PM

You can take photos at a property, or pick them from your phone, and add them to the property in Loop straight away.

Before you start: where your photos go

  • New photos are added to the end of the property's photos. If the property had no photos before, the first one you add becomes the main photo.
  • If the property is live on your agency website, new photos can appear there straight away. There's no approval step.
  • They aren't sent to Rightmove, Zoopla or OnTheMarket straight away. They go the next time the property's listing is updated, for example when someone answers Yes to "Update the property listing on your website & portals?" in Loop.

So only upload photos you're happy for the public to see. Afterwards, check them in Loop and put them in the right order.

Don't use this for inspection or condition photos. See Lettings inspections in Loop Pocket.

Adding photos

  1. Open the property and go to the Details tab.
  2. Scroll down to Media.
  3. Tap Add photos. If the property has no photos yet, tap No images found instead.
  4. Choose one of these:
    • Take a photo
    • Choose from library: you can pick up to 10 photos at a time.
  5. Your new photos appear at the front of the Media card, marked Not uploaded. To remove one before uploading, tap its X.
  6. Tap Upload (the button shows how many photos you're uploading).
  7. Wait while Pocket shows Uploading…. When it's done, you'll see a message saying how many photos were added.

Media card photos not uploaded

Add photos choice

Pocket resizes photos before uploading them, so they don't use much data.

Upload before you close the app. Photos marked Not uploaded are only held in Pocket. They're still there if you move to another screen, but they're lost if you close the app. Your phone can also clear them if it's low on storage, in which case Pocket tells you the photo is no longer on the phone.

Photos you take in Pocket aren't saved to your phone's camera roll.

If a photo doesn't upload

A photo that fails shows Upload failed with a retry button. Tap it to try again. The message tells you what went wrong:

Failed photo with retry

MessageWhat to do
The upload timed out. Try again on a stronger connection.Move somewhere with better signal or Wi-Fi, then retry.
You do not have permission to add photos to this property.Ask your Loop administrator about your access.
Your session has expired. Sign in again and upload the photo.Sign out and back in, then add the photo again.
This photo is too large to upload. This is rare, because Pocket shrinks photos first. Try a different photo.

Limits

A property can have up to 99 photos. If you reach the limit, you'll see Photo limit reached. Remove some in Loop before adding more.

Allowing camera and photo access

The first time you add photos, your phone asks whether Pocket can use your camera or photo library. Tap Allow.

If you've said no before, Pocket shows Permission needed. Tap Open settings, allow camera or photo access for Pocket, then try again.

Looking at photos

  • Up to four photos show on the Media card. The last one shows how many more there are.
  • Tap any photo to see it full screen.

Brochures are listed under the photos as Brochure #1, Brochure #2 and so on. Tap one to open it.

Managing photos in Loop

You can't delete, reorder or edit photos in Pocket. In Loop you can:

  • delete photos
  • drag them into order. The first photo is the main one.
  • crop or rotate them
