Overview
Loop’s User Permissions system provides granular control over what team members can view and execute within the platform. Permission settings are controlled using customized Profiles, which can then be assigned to individual Users.
Note: Permission management is currently available for Accounting features, with expanded controls for other areas of Loop rolling out in future updates.
Prerequisites & Admin Access
Admin Access Required: Only designated Admin Users can view and modify user permissions.
Need Access? If you are not an Admin and require permission management capabilities, contact the support team at support@loop.software to request the appropriate role.

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Create a Permission Profile
Navigate to the top right-hand corner, click your Name, and select Settings.
From the left sidebar, click Permissions.
Select the Profiles tab and click Create Profile.
Enter a descriptive Profile Name (e.g., Property Manager or Accountant).
Step 2: Customize Permissions
Under the Edit Permissions section for your chosen profile, select or deselect the capabilities you want to grant.
Common accounting permissions include:
Landlord & Vendor Payments: Pay landlords, contractors, and agencies.
Tenant Actions: Refund tenants and process deposit payouts.
Maintenance & Invoicing: Post charges from jobs, raise refunds, create charges, and issue credits.
Tax Actions: Control visibility over HMRC holdbacks or tax reporting.
Click Save Changes.
Step 3: Assign a Profile to a User
Switch to the Users tab within the Permissions menu.
Search or select the specific team member you wish to update.
Open their user settings and select Add Profile.
Choose the appropriate profile (e.g., Property Manager) from the drop-down menu.
Save your changes to apply the updated permission set to that user.
