How to Duplicate a Property in Loop Software

Overview

In this article, we will walk you through the process of duplicating a property for either lettings or sales, and switching it between both categories. This feature is particularly useful if you need to manage multiple properties with similar details or if you need to switch a property’s listing status.

Steps to Duplicate a Property

1. **Open the Property Record**:

   - Locate and open the property record you want to duplicate.

2. **Access the Duplicate Property Feature**:

   - In the top right-hand corner of the property record, click on the three little dots to open an extra menu.

   - Select the **Duplicate Property** option from this menu.

3. **Configure the Duplicate Property**:

   - **Change Details**:

     - You can choose to duplicate the property for sales or lettings.

     - Change the responsible agent if needed.

     - Update the address and any other necessary information.

   - **Copy Information**:

     - You can selectively copy over different pieces of information such as images, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), and other media and text changes.

   - **Set Marketing Details**:

     - On the right-hand side of the duplication screen, you can input the marketing price and associated fees.

     - For lettings, you can update the rent and other relevant details.

4. **Finalize the Duplication**:

   - Once all required information is entered and updated, click on **Share** to create the duplicate property.

   - The property will be switched to the designated category (lettings or sales) with the relevant details copied over.

Example Use Case

If you have five flats in the same building and you want to list them all, you can input the details for one flat, duplicate it, and then make minor adjustments for each duplicate. Similarly, if you need to switch a property from sales to lettings, you can duplicate the property, change the rent details, and update the lettings information.
