Uploading Photos

Modified on Sat, 29 Jul, 2023 at 9:03 AM

Locate the Photo Upload function in the Property File > Media & Text tab

You can either 'browse' to the file location of your property photos and select one or more manually, or you can 'drag' them over from a File Explorer and have Loop process them as a 'batch'.

When you upload the Photos, Loop processes them in order, one after the other. The size of your property photos will, by default, be quite large - the latest phones and cameras shoot photos in high resolution, which makes the file disproportionally large for the purposes of using it for web listings and portal uploads. Loop must resize the image, process it on to the server and then show you the gallery of the images - all of which is a memory intensive exercise, so it takes time.

Here are some tips to ensure you are ready to upload photos in to Loop:

  • Make sure that the images are all JPEG's or JPG's. Rename each photo on your computer so they have meaningful names - for example, for the front image, rename it 'front.jpg'. Avoid using long file names, or special characters. Keep it simple.
  • Make sure that the images are around 2-3Mb each.
If you need to resize them before you attempt to upload them, then use something like Image Resizer for Windows: (https://www.bricelam.net/ImageResizer/) or an online service such as Img2Go (https://www.img2go.com/resize-image)

  • Ensure that the image is no more than 1600 pixels wide, and the same proportions for height. These are settings you can specify in the two image resizer services referenced above.
  • When you have your images renamed and resized, then head back in to Loop and upload them. When uploading 'lots' of photos - over 10 or 12, then we recommend that you upload 3-4 at a time. Depending on the specification of your laptop/desktop, you may be able to upload more - but start with 3-4 and work up from there each time.
  • When Loop is processing the images, you are presented with a wait screen. Do not close the browser or attempt to navigate away - let Loop do it's thing. You will know when it's finished because the image gallery will have green ticks on each image.
  • Keep a local copy of your original images (the ones you took on your phone or camera). The images that you just uploaded in to Loop are used for website listings, portal uploads and matching templates. Keep a local copy of these too.

If you encounter any issues, then email the photos you are trying to upload, along with the property address they correspond to, to support@loop.software and we'll take a look.
