Troubleshooting Loop Pocket

Keeping Pocket up to date

Pocket gets updates in two ways.

Quick updates inside the app. When one is ready, Pocket shows New version available when you open it. Tap Update. Pocket downloads the update and restarts, which takes a few seconds.

New version available alert

App Store and Google Play updates. Bigger updates come through the app store, and Pocket doesn't tell you about these. Turn on automatic updates on your phone, or check the store now and then.

To see which version you have, go to the bottom of Settings.

Pocket needs a connection

Pocket doesn't work offline. It needs mobile data or Wi-Fi to show and save information.

If you lose signal while saving, you'll see No connection. Check your signal and try again. Nothing has been saved. Check that what you entered is still there, then try again once you have signal.

If you open Pocket with no signal, it can't check your sign-in, so it signs you out. Sign in again once you have signal. If you're heading somewhere with poor signal, open Pocket before you go and don't close it.

Messages you might see

When something can't be saved, a red banner appears at the top of the screen for a few seconds. Tap it to close it.

Information looks out of date

  • Pull down to refresh on the Agenda, Now & Next and Enquiries tabs.
  • Pocket also refreshes when you come back to it after more than 30 seconds away.
  • If something still looks wrong, close Pocket fully and open it again.

Pocket is stuck or has crashed

If you see Something went wrong with a Retry button, tap Retry.

If that doesn't help, close Pocket fully and open it again:

  • iPhone: swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause, then swipe Pocket up and away.
  • Android: open your recent apps and swipe Pocket away.
