To create a Google Maps API key to use with our Loop powered website, follow the steps below.

Go to Google’s Cloud Console page and sign in with your google business account - if you don't have one create an account.

Once logged in you should see the following screen, you will want to hit the Try for Free button

This will guide you through the setup process, asking your for some details, so read through carefully and setup your account.

You should then come to this screen, click the create a project

From the popup, select New Project

Fill in the details - be sure to use a descriptive name

Once done, go ahead and navigate into that project:

You then need to turn on the relevent google maps libraries, so hit the burger menu > APIs and Services > Library

You will need to activate the following: Maps JavaScript API, Geocoding API & Places API, simple locate each one and enable (you will get pops giving you the API key, copy it down and close the popup.

You can then protect the API key at a later stage once the application ins live, so ignore that for now.

Once you have then enabled, go into the credential screen and fetch your API

From here you can also secure it, which us best to go once live by adding the URL to it. Click on the Maps API Key name and it will show you how to do this when you select website from the radio buttons below.

note, only do this once development has been completed.

Copy your API key and send it over to us.
