Converting an Active Buyer into a Seller in Loop

Modified on Tue, 8 Apr at 12:21 PM

This article explains how to convert an existing active buyer in Loop into a seller when they decide to list their property for sale.

Process:

Within Loop, converting a buyer to a seller is primarily done through the process of booking a market appraisal for their property.

Steps:

  1. Initiate Booking Appraisal:
    • Navigate to the "Book Appraisal" action within Loop. This function is used to schedule a valuation appointment.
  2. Consider Opportunity (Optional):
    • If the buyer has mentioned they might sell but are not yet ready to book an appraisal, you have the option to register them as a "Market Appraisal Opportunity" first. This allows you to track their potential sale and follow up. (Refer to the "Recording a Market Appraisal Opportunity in Loop" article for more details).
  3. Add Property Address:
    • Enter the address of the property that needs to be valued.
    • If the buyer's current address is already recorded in their buyer profile, and this is the property to be valued, it will likely auto-populate or be available for selection.
    • Important: If the property to be valued is different from the buyer's current residence, ensure you enter the correct address for the valuation. You may want to keep both their current address (as the buyer) and the property to be valued (as the seller) on file.
  4. Verify Seller Details:
    • The system will likely pre-populate the seller's details with the information from the existing buyer profile. Review and ensure all information is accurate.
  5. Complete Appraisal Details:
    • Follow the standard steps for booking a market appraisal, including setting the date and time for the appointment.
  6. Proceed and Save:
    • Once all necessary information is entered, click "Proceed."
    • Complete the appraisal booking process and click "Save" or "Submit."

Outcome:

By completing these steps, Loop will associate the individual with both their buyer profile and a new seller profile linked to the property address you entered for the appraisal. This allows you to manage them effectively throughout both their buying and selling journeys.
