This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to create and use custom appointment types within the Loop system diary.
1. Creating Custom Appointment Types
You must first create the custom appointment types in your system settings.
Navigate to your Settings by clicking on your name in the top right corner.
Go to Diary Settings.
Scroll down to the Custom Appointment Types section.
Click Add New.
Enter the name for your custom event (e.g., "Survey," "Holiday," "Day Off").
Set the Color for the appointment type in the diary.
Select a suitable Icon to go with it.
Repeat these steps for as many custom events as you require.
Note: You can delete any custom types you have created by mistake using the trash can icon.
2. Adding a Custom Event to Your Diary
Once your custom types are created, you can now add them to your diary.
Navigate to your Diary on the left-hand navigation menu.
Click on any open slot or the Add New Event button.
In the event creation card, you will see your new custom types listed at the bottom (e.g., "Survey," "Holiday").
Select the desired Custom Type. This acts like a light diary diversion, similar to an activity.
Fill in the event details:
Description/Title: (e.g., "Alex off")
Address (optional)
Date
Time
Set a Repeater if necessary (for recurring events).
Click Save.
3. Key Characteristics of Custom Diary Events
Simple Diary Appointments: Custom events are designed solely for scheduling purposes within your diary.
No Entity Linking: They cannot be linked to properties, contacts, or other specific entities within the Loop system.
Display: When hovering over them in the diary, custom events will not display the typical detailed icons and information associated with standard appointments.
